Venue and Travel

Southampton is a major port on the south coast of England and has a long maritime history. It has a museum partly devoted to the story of the Titanic which sailed from Southampton on its ill-fated maiden voyage in 1912. Close by is the beautiful ‘ New Forest ’ which, ironically, was first recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086, and was a vital source of timber for the ship building industry in bygone years. The historic cities of Winchester and Salisbury , and the world heritage site Stonehenge are within easy reach by public transport.
